I have also been working with Drupal a Content Management System that allows users to manage content themselves. This allows you to create portals with community involvement in forums and blogs by employees.
Whilst web sites with Flash animations can be entertaining and visually appealing the shear size size of the files mean that those on dial up access they just don’t load. McDonalds are currently (March 2009) running a competition that uses a Flash animation that some colleagues living out of town have tried to access numerous times and have never seen the full page, let alone enter the competition.
